Heritage Sherborne
The church stands at the south end of the village which, rarely for Dorset has, some sense of formality. A small green opens north of the church; but the houses do not gather round it.


Heritage Blandford Forum
This church stands on the site of the medieval church, which perished in the fire of 1731. It was designed and built by John & William Bastard and opened in 1739. It is a notable example of Georgian church architecture in the classical style and has a spectacular interior.


Heritage Sturminster Newton
The church of St. Peter and St. Paul is virtually all of the late 15th century when it was restored. The handsome tower however is later, having been rebuilt in 1868 to match the rest of the church. In the nave there is a 15th century 'green man', the head


Heritage Dorchester
A small church, nestled in a beautiful parkland setting beside a great house, will for ever be associated with William Barnes, the great Dorset dialect poet. He was Rector here (with Whitcombe) for 24 years from 1862 until his death in 1886.


Heritage Wimborne
A Georgian church built in 1722 with a thrilling north tower and arched windows. Among the fittings the medieval effigies and reredos are noteworthy.

Tarrant Crawford Church is tucked away and undiscovered and yet it has remarkable murals painted on its interior.
