Chococo make award-winning fresh chocolates by hand by the seaside in the heart of Swanage, using as many local & fairtrade ingredients as possible. You are able to watch the team in action in our tiny factory through our viewing window and buy our products from our shop opposite.

We are proud of being ethical chocolate makers as, just as we care about the taste of our finished chocolates, we also care about the bigger picture - about where the ingredients come from and the people who produce them.

What are we passionate about?

Provenance - We only work with origin chocolate made with the finest cocoa beans, we use local Dorset produce, including the fresh cream for our ganaches, as much as possible and where we can't go local, we try to source ethically produced ingredients.

Freshness - our fresh Dorset cream truffles & chocolates are best eaten as soon as possible as they are a fresh product, but they will keep for up to 2 weeks - if you can manage to hold back for that long.

Purity - we believe quite simply that pure food tastes better - so we don't put any preservatives into our chocolates, so that you can discover the joy of tasting purity.

Opening Times

Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm all year round.

During the summer holidays we operate extended opening hours from 9.30am to 5.30pm on Monday to Saturday.
We will also be giving a daily talk at 12 noon to anyone who wishes to attend where we will discuss a brief history of chocolate, the journey from bean to bar and everyone will have a chance to sample chocolate.

Directions

"Cocoa Central", our factory & shop is tucked away down a little back street right in the heart of Swanage. To find us, the best thing to do is get yourself onto Station Road (it's the main shopping street with Somerfield, Woolworths & Barclays Bank on it) and opposite Barclays you will see Commercial Road, in between a pet shop & an opticians.
It's best to walk into the road (it's very narrow and there is no parking), turn left at the Old Stable cafe and follow your nose (& the Chococo signs!).

Events: We run kids workshops at various times throughout the year, for more information on dates, times and costs, please visit our website.

Parking: Please avoid trying to drive to our shop as the area is very congested. There are numerous car parks within 2 minutes walk from Chococo, please make use of these.
