BRIDPORT

Tel: 01308 424204
Based in the heart of the West Dorset market town of Bridport, the historic venue has a 200-seat theatre, three gallery spaces plus a cafe and bar. It's welcoming and full of character.
Bridport Arts Centre has a lively programme with a range of different art forms.
With film, dance, drama, music, exhibitions and workshops on offer, it provides an impressive line-up of entertainment for a town of this size.
The auditorium is intimate and particularly good for music events due to its acoustics. The theatre also hosts touring national companies including the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Ballet Central.
The main exhibition space, the Allsop Gallery, through the foyer and up the stairs, is a spacious, light area. Exhibitions vary from sculpture, installations, painting and photography.
Creative arts workshops and dance classes run after school for children and teenagers with kidstART and ArtZONE.
The Art Garden Cafe uses mainly Fairtrade and organic local produce. It's particularly child-friendly with space around the tables for high chairs and buggies plus books and toys to borrow. The children's menu includes tubs of raisins, small soup portions and sliced fresh fruit. During warmer weather, the courtyard garden offers outside tables.
