A Georgian maritime warehouse whose original timber interior makes an inspiring setting for the very best contemporary art and craft.
Sensitively converted by furniture designer and maker Petter Southall, Sladers Yard shows his acclaimed sculptural steam bent furniture which he makes nearby at the i tre furniture studio. Petter is also building classic sailing/row boats to commission in the workshop at Sladers Yard.
Changing exhibitions in the pillared galleries showcase very good contemporary artists and sculptors. Artists are drawn from the South West for the quality and integrity of their work. This area inspires a great many artists and we are proud to showcase some of the best. Whatever you buy here will bring dividends of pleasure for years into the future. Sladers shop offers a range of gifts and domestic ware made by leading British designers and makers, many of whom are also local to Bridport. Including: ceramics, turned wood, pleated silks, woven scarves, chenille bedspreads and cushions, designed clothes, jewellery, lamps, mirrors, leatherware and baskets. Whether you are searching for a gift for someone else or yourself, we stock handmade, beautiful things unique to this time and this place.
Our courtyard cafe specialises in organic home-made and locally produced delicious lunches, teas, cream teas, coffees, cakes and ice cream. We have seating inside and out in our sunny flower-filled yard.




Directions
From Bridport or A35 take West Bay Road by the Crown Pub signed for West Bay. There is parking by the mini-roundabout on West Bay Road or further into West Bay. Sladers Yard is on the right as you come into West Bay set back from West Bay Road, just after George Street.
