"A splendid building with the finest view and the finest location of any in England” is how Oliver Letwin MP described The Marine Theatre recently.
The Marine Theatre, sited in the lovely coastal town of Lyme Regis, is a true gem of a theatre and concerned to be very much at the heart of its community – whether local residents or the many thousands of tourists who visit each year. Programming seeks to address the widest variety of taste: high quality local amateur theatre and many visiting productions from professionals; events specifically aimed at children; music from jazz (modern and traditional), through evenings of popular song, to blues and classical recitals.
