30 years exhibiting and dealing in Studio Ceramics. Contemporary paintings, sculpture, & ceramics by leading West Country and selected artists.
Founded in 1991 by Tim Boon, with a mission to bring modern ceramics, paintings, and sculpture of "West End of London" quality to Dorset, the Alpha House Gallery of Sherborne is now under the direction of Suzanne Marston. It has continued to set the standard amongst contemporary art galleries located in the Wessex region of England.
The Gallery holds eight exhibitions per year (including mixed shows in summer and winter) which feature some of the cream of Wessex based painters, and sculptors, as well as distinguished artists from further afield.
Regular exhibitors include Rob Woolner, Lawrence Freiesleben, Gerry Dudgeon, Colin Bishop, Susan Caines, Philip Hicks, William Mills, Hilary and John Hoyland, Dorset's rising star sculptor Marzia Colonna, Jill Tweed, Mary Spencer Watson, John Huggins and Tony Birks-Hay.
The Gallery is particularly strong in the field of ceramic art and previous exhibitors at Alpha House are a virtual roll-call of the great and the good of British Ceramics of the second half of the twentieth century.
