Bookham Court Cottages lie in an area of outstanding beauty. They offer abundant opportunities to view wildlife, with interactive cameras to Bird Boxes/Badger Sett.
Bookham Court cottages have been equipped to the highest standard, providing the perfect family holiday location from which to enjoy the surrounding Dorset countryside and the Jurassic Coast.
Bookham Farm is a commercial farm but has always encouraged wildlife. Much of the farm is in Countryside Stewardship and the Environmentally Sensivite Area. We have planted several acres of Woodland and have put up about 40 owl, Kestrel and other bird boxes around the farm, together with an artificial badgers sett.
In 2004 a wildlife hide was erected for us to monitor the local wildlife and to allow holiday makers to appreciate the wonderful environment we live in. From interactive cameras you can follow the life of specific bird or mammal. From this heated hide you can also watch badgers and birds feeding in front of you, subject to the time of year.
Crowthorne Cottage has a computer with links to a bird box, peanut feeder and bee hive.
Follow the Wessex Ridgeway Farm Walks over our own farm and that of neighbouring Dorset farms. The trail is way-marked by signs and notice boards, giving you information about each farm. During the spring and summer you may see scarce wildflowers such as the Common Sponted Orchid or Birdsfood Trefoil.

Additional Information
There is easy access to a range of nearby footpaths including both the Hardy Trail and Wessex Way.
