Green Woodwork Courses In West Dorset Arts & craft

Two day green woodwork courses in a beautiful woodland workshop, suitable for all - no previous experience necessary. Very relaxing, fun and fulfilling.

Guy Mallinson moved to Dorset after 20 years designing and making
contemporary custom furniture in London for clients such as Walt
Disney & The Laban Centre. He now runs courses in green (unseasoned)woodwork, sharing the skills & passion for wood.

The courses are designed to be fun, relaxing & informative and are held in a beautiful setting just outside Bridport. Use of all
specialist tools, materials & lunch are all included. The adult courses include carving a wooden bowl, making a green wood footstool, garden totem pole carving, kitchen and garden pole lathe turning. There are also separate days for parents and children.

Additional Information

Green woodworking uses only hand tools and freshly cut wood, the techniques that are demonstrated practiced by guests are ancient and environmentally sound - there is no electricity, dust, noise, glue or sandpaper - simply the sound of the woods and quiet shaving or carving - bliss!
