The shop features craftwork from local and national crafts people and there are approximately eight different exhibitions throughout the year in the Philip Goulden Gallery at the Mill. Also there is a programme of workshops and educational activities for children and adults.
Walford Mill Crafts is the place to visit if you are looking for the very best in contemporary craft and design.
On the northern edge of the market town of Wimborne, the eighteenth century mill is a local landmark set in the idyllic grounds by the ancient Walford Bridge beside the river Allen. It is now a popular attraction, both for local residents and for visitors to Dorset.
This centre of excellence presents high quality craftwork by local and national makers in its craft shop including textiles, wood, jewellery, glass, ceramics and metal work.
There are about eight different exhibitions throughout the year in the gallery featuring work by local, national and international contemporary makers.
The centre is managed by Walford Mill Education Trust, a registered charity. An active programme of challenging courses, workshops and exhibition-linked events are run throughout the year as well as many other events.
Meet the resident designers and makers in silk weaving, jewellery and textiles to appreciate their expertise in creating designs and commissioned pieces.
The Mill has a licensed restaurant The Bistro at the Mill. Whether you want to relax with a cup of coffee, enjoy a bowl of soup, spoil yourself with a cream tea or you want to sample a delicious home-made ‘special’ dish of the day, the Bistro is the place to visit. The Bistro is also open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for evening meals, booking is essential.
There is also an adjacent car park for Walford Mill’s visitors.
The gallery, craft shop, restaurant and grounds are fully wheelchair accessible with facilities for disabled visitors.

Accessibility for Walford Mill
The car park is about 50m from the entrance and the nearest 2 places are reserved for parking cars displaying a disabled badge. Drivers may drive into the centre courtyard to set down disabled passengers but should then use the adjacent car park. Disabled drivers may park in the courtyard.
Gallery, shop, on-site makers and restaurant are fully accessible. There is a toilet for people with disabilities.

CRAFTSCHOOL
This is at present located on the top floor of the building up 3 flights of stairs. There are plans for the future for this to be accessible by a lift.
Dogs are allowed in the courtyard on lead only and only guide dogs are allowed in Walford Mill
