A real gem right in the heart of Shaftesbury. Walled garden, conservatory and real log fire in the winter. No nonsense food with recipes drawn mainly from the cuisines of England, France, Spain and Italy. All dishes are cooked on the premises - no 3663 or Brake Brothers here. The majority of ingredients are organic, locally sourced and are fair trade. Gypsy Jazz and Mainstream Jazz feature regularly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights - not too loud! Cafe has a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere, just pop in for a coffee and a cake or light lunch during the day or come for a special meal on Friday or Saturday evening. Different menu every weekend - weekly published on website.
Directions
Park in main car park in centre of Shaftesbury. Walk along the front of Somerfield supermarket, turn left by telephone box and you will see the cafe about 40 yards/metres down the road.

Ben & Nicola Rutter are extremely knowledgeable about European food and have an array of cookbooks in the cafe for all to browse - however they are always willing to learn more. Fully Licensed
