La Fosse at Cranborne Restaurants & Cafes

Chef proprietor Mark and his wife Emmanuelle offer quality accommodation, as well as delicious home cooked dinners with friendly and efficient service, in comfortable idyllic rural surroundings.

Relax in leather armchairs in front of the log fire, have a glass of wine from our bar or enjoy our tranquil courtyard garden.

The perfect base for exploring Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire, as we are located in Cranborne village centre, on the boundary of these historic counties. The village is set in the heart of Cranborne Chase on the edge of the New Forest, a short drive to the beautiful Jurassic coast and sandy beaches of Bournemouth.

Purchasing our produce from fine, top of the range suppliers is very important to us.We aim to use local and free range wherever possible whenever we think that the local product is superior from elsewhere. Our food is traditional English with a dash of international. Old time favourites from the past, as well as a few international flavours are featuring on our menu.

Maps of the area and a selection of local

Once a hunting ground frequented by royalty, Cranborne Chase has the feel of an ancient place with its ox droves, Roman roads and prehistoric sites. Its combination of woodland, rolling fields and steep scarps, with wide views, big skies and scattered villages, is the perfect escape to the country.
