The Holy Rood Church, Shillingstone Heritage

Shillingstone is a picturesque village with a restored medieval cross. The worshipful church stands away from the main part of the village and is of 12th century origin.

There was the usual refashioning in the 15th century and restoration and enlargement by Bodley, who added the north aisle.
The banded flint and ashlar masonry is a local feature.
