European Inn Pubs

An award winning pub specialising in local seasonal food and drink with a regularly changing menu in a fun relaxed atmosphere. We have two bedrooms available for bed and a great breakfast.

Mark & Emily Hammick bought The European Inn at the end of January 2007 and embarked on a major refurbishment programme. Thanks to their builders the pub re-opened in time for Easter and the two new letting bedrooms were completed in June.

We had been in Oxfordshire for the past eight years, Mark running a busy Thames riverside pub and Emily being a land agent. Our roles have now changed considerably with both Emily & Mark now running front of house & a great team running the kitchen.

Our ethos at The European is to provide good pub grub using as many ingredients sourced as locally and as seasonally as possible in a relaxing atmosphere. Whether you want a pint of Palmers Copper Ale and a packet of Jack & Ollies crisps at the bar or a three course dinner with fine wine we aim to accommodate everybody.

Locals are very important to us and we do not mind muddy feet or paws after a long walk around the many paths that criss-cross the countryside. We have our three dogs, Summer and her two puppies Minnie & Maude who make an appearance at the end of lunch or supper to hoover up all the crumbs!

We are very proud to have been awarded Four Stars and a Gold Award by VisitBritain. We hope we can live up to the expectations that this award has set us.

Closed on Sunday nights & all Mondays

Additional Information

We have two rooms avaliable which have interlinking three foot twin beds, this means they are available as either doubles or twins. Both have flat screen teles, digital clock radios, a tea tray and hairdryer as well as ensuite bathrooms.

Each room has wonderful power showers and separate baths. So whether you need a powerful hosing down first thing in the morning or a long soak at the end of a weary day, you know all your needs can be satisfied. We were awarded a Silver Award by Taste of the West for our bed & breakfast in 2007.
