An unusual corner shop selling masses of local produce.

Alveston Post Office and Stores won the Good Service Award on regional TV's 'Bite Back' programme. They stock a huge range of items from more than 50 small local producers.

This includes meat from four different butchers, fruit and veg from a farm four miles away, olives from a local supplier, free-range eggs, bread and even a new range of honey from the owner's wood.

It also stocks some locally made jewellery and organic cotton bags. There's a strong community ethos and locals with surplus produce are encouraged to sell in-store and then donate the shop's portion of the profits to charity.
