a chance for you to carve your own story or celebration pole. The courses are open to individuals and groups.

Exploring images and totems that have relevance to your life, history and environment you will be guided through the design process and instructed in the techniques of carving in the round.

The range of courses is open to most ages and abilities. Some courses are specifically designed for families to be able to work together on communal poles and create their family crest or celebrate a special occasion. Others are offered as women-only courses.

Karen Hansen has worked with wood since 1980 and her knowledge and experience in teaching the skills involved have been developed over the last 20 years.
